What items in your store cupboard could you not do without?
Mine would have to be: Marmite Bay Leaves Lentils Soy sauce
I add most of these to practically all my recipes and I can always conjure up something delicious with these basics.
So....come on....what's your top essentials?

I don't think i could live with out a pantry without:
vegemite honey thyme couscous a spice starting with c that i can't remember. it goes really well with couscous and it comes from morroco i think. cardamon? no... maybe....
in it. I could not handle not having vegemite in my pantry. it is the best spread ever..... mmm... and it's just so good.
I hope you people know what vegemite is. I really do. It's so much better than marmite, and promite, and mighty mite. they all pale in comparison.
mmm....vegemite... ;-P

Heka - I thought I'd really miss cheese but I don't at all. You can get vegan cheese but I've not tasted it - I have heard mixed reports about it though.
As for the other things you mentioned you can get all vegan options - except honey but maple syrup is a good vegan alternative.
