Hey Hedge, just wanting to check up on another brand (man it's been along time since me, or anyone else by the looks, was here). Clarins. I've found sites that say they are ok but I just can't trust those huge companies. And they're not on every good list, just some, though as of yet I haven't managed to find them on any bad lists. If you've got time, could you also take a look into it? And Happy Birthday x

Good to see you too 'lil pea. 'Tis like a ghost town round here. I found this on the Clarins website "In 1987, Clarins was the first French company to cease product testing on animals. " But it doesn't mention if their ingredients are tested on animals so I've emailed them. I'll let you know asap what their reply is. xx

email reply:
Since 1988 the only tests that Clarins conduct during the development and manufacture of our products are on human volunteers and tissue cultures which replicate the structure of the human skin and eye. Clarins has also not used ingredients of animal origin in its products since this date.
The ingredients we use are purchased from specialist suppliers who produce a safety file, conforming to European regulations, for each raw ingredient they sell. We will always request a copy of this documentation to ensure that an ingredient is safe to use for cosmetic purposes, but at no time do we demand or commission animal tests.
Hmmmmm......about as clear as mud. From this I would presume that some of their ingredients are tested on animals even if the end product isn't.
