I eat yeast yes. Yeast is living but it is part of the fungi kingdom and not from animals. Good question though 'lil pea - I don't think I've ever been asked that before.

Fair enough. I wonder if many vegans out there question the eating of yeast? Cos if it's a fungi, it should be fine, mushrooms a fungi. But a bacteria could be different...
(I am SOOO proud of myself for that question!!!)

i used to get asked this loads at school, especially when we were doing yeast experiments in science class (my yeast always died ), and the other girls wanted to pick on the veggies! but yes i eat yeast, and will continue to eat yeast. its a culture - which i still eat - although not cultures made from dairy milks, although i have made yoghurty stuff from sunflower seeds. no different in my opinion.

OK That got my attention.
I would appreciate it soooo much if you could post it. I have been experimenting with home made vegan Cheese lately (think mad scientist more like) but my experiments are lacking something (and don't say dairy heka!!). I have made it my mission to create good vegan cheese.
